Felon Found With Gun, Drugs During X-Ray At Harford Hospital Sentenced
A felon has been sentenced after being found guilty of having a loaded gun and drugs, which were discovered during an X-ray at the hospital.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A man described as a repeat offender has been sentenced to prison after an X-ray at a hospital revealed a loaded gun and drugs were on his body at the time.
In May 2023, Havre de Grace police officers were called to the Harford Memorial Hospital for a report of an armed person, later identified as Sathrie Zach Robinson Jr., of Edgewood, according to authorities. On May 27, 2023, at 4:16 a.m., Havre de Grace Police were called to the hospital at 501 S. Union Ave. in Havre de Grace for the report of an armed subject.
Robinson had been admitted for injuries suffered in a car crash. When reviewing his X-rays, hospital staff noted a cylindrical object, inconsistent with normal human anatomy, in his groin region, according to prosecutors.

Officers searched Robinson and found he was concealing a loaded firearm with hollow point ammunition, 100.8 grams of cocaine, and 5.4 grams of methamphetamine. Officers later found a scale and packaging materials among his personal belongings.
Robinson was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to convictions for first-degree assault and a federal conviction for distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, the prosecution said. He also was sentenced to an additional 10 years to be served consecutively for a violation of probation in a 2015 first-degree assault case.

“We will continue to request top of the guideline sentences for repeat offenders committing crimes in our communities. I applaud Assistant State’s Attorney Vazzana’s efforts in securing a strong sentence in this case and contributing to the safety of our county by removing this repeat offender from our streets," said State’s Attorney Alison M. Healey in a news release.
