Homicide In Joppatowne Under Investigation

A person was fatally shot in a vehicle, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

JOPPATOWNE, MD — After a person was found shot in a vehicle in Joppatowne Friday night, officials say they are treating it as a homicide investigation.

The victim was found in the 500 block of Dembytown Road, where deputies said they were called at 6:45 p.m. for a report of a crash.

As medics were rendering aid, they found the driver had been shot.

William James Doran, 29, of Joppatowne, was taken to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, where officials said he was pronounced deceased.

Investigators determined Doran had been driving when he was shot, and he then hit a utility pole.

Detectives said they were at the scene after 9 p.m.

As of Saturday afternoon, officials said there were no suspects.
