CSX Freight Train Fatally Hits Aberdeen Man
An Aberdeen man was killed after being hit by a CSX freight train near the intersection of Harford Street and Market Street.
ABERDEEN, MD — An Aberdeen man died last week after being hit by a CSX freight train while on the tracks near the intersection of Harford Street and Market Street.
According to the Aberdeen Police Department, the incident happened around 8:51 p.m. May 14. Officers were called to the area of West Bel Air Avenue and Mt. Royal Avenue for a report of a train-related emergency.
They found 28-year-old Philip Anthony Mantik Jr., of Aberdeen, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the police department.

The incident remains under investigation with assistance from CSX Transportation and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
