Memorial Day Ceremonies In Bel Air, Havre De Grace Include Wreath Layings, Patriotic Music

Both Bel Air and Havre de Grace will hold Memorial Day ceremonies Monday that include live patriotic music, wreath layings and more.

BEL AIR, MD — The American Legion Post 39 in Bel Air and the town are teaming up for the 40th annual Memorial Day Ceremony planned for Monday in Shamrock Park.

There will be a wreath-laying ceremony, military honors, displays of military memorabilia and patriotic music performed by the Bel Air Community Band starting at 10:30 a.m.. Shamrock Park is located at Lee Way and McCormick Street.

Master of Ceremony and American Legion Commander Jason Robertson told Patch that a Memorial Day Ceremony in Havre de Grace at Tydings Park will start at 11 a.m. Monday. There will be another ceremony at 9 a.m. at Angel Hill.

Events include the playing of the National Anthem, guest speakers, a presentation of wreaths by veterans organizations including the Elks Lodge of Havre de Grace, military displays, a memorial salute and the playing of Taps. The special guest will be Major General James D. Turinetti IV who serves as the 18th Commander of the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command and Senior Commander of Aberdeen Proving Ground.
