National Foundation Hosts GoFundMe For 15-Year-Old Joppatowne High School Shooting Victim

A national foundation has stepped forward to host a GoFundMe for 15-year-old Warren Grant who was fatally shot at Joppatowne High School.

JOPPATOWNE, MD — A GoFundMe has been created for the family of 15-year-old Warren Grant who was fatally shot in a school bathroom at Joppatowne High by a classmate. The Brandon Tolson Foundation is hosting the GoFundMe.

Harford County deputies arrested 16-year-old Jaylen Prince shortly after they say he killed Grant in a first floor school bathroom during a fight between the two that broke out Friday, Sept. 6. It was Prince's first day at the school even though school had started earlier that week. Prince has been in custody since his arrest right after the shooting when numerous 911 calls came in that said he was running around banging on the windows and doors of homes near the school. He made his first appearance in court Monday, according to WBAL, and attended virtually from the Harford County Detention Center. A judge denied bail.

The Brandon Tolson Foundation was established to provide emotional support and financial relief to families who have lost a child. The foundation is committed to helping families through all aspects from the initial processes and planning, to forming bonds that will nurture a sense of healing and strength moving forward, according to its website. The foundation stated it was "honored" to be hosting Grant's GoFundMe.
