A new recreation area for students called the Owl's Nest has opened on the campus of Harford Community College.

BEL AIR, MD — A new recreation area at Harford Community College called the Owl's Nest has opened in the student center.

As a new and reimagined space, the Owl's Nest was created to "enhance the college experience for
Harford students. The Owl’s Nest provides a place where students can hang out and spend
time with friends between classes, helping to build a sense of community and a connection to
campus," school leaders explained at a ribbon cutting held recently.

New recreation equipment for use by college students at the Owl’s Nest includes an air hockey table, ping pong table, arcade machine, pool table, pinball machine, mini basketball machine, multi-sport simulator, foosball table and shuffleboard. The college's Office of Student Life provided most of the funding for the Owl’s Nest.

The Student Government Association purchased a claw machine that is filled with Harford
Community College branded prizes and gifts. Faculty, staff, students and community members are welcome to use the machine, which costs $1 to play. All of the proceeds generated by the claw machine are donated directly to the Harford Community College Foundation to help students in need, the school said.

Dr. Theresa B. Felder, Harford Community College president, along with members of the president’s staff and the Office of Student Life team also attended the ribbon cutting.
