Scheduling Conference Set For Teen Facing Rape Charges
The next court date is set in the case against an Abingdon teen.
, the 16-year-old High School junior charged with raping a 14-year-old fellow student, was initially scheduled to appear for an arraignment Monday, but that appearance was canceled, according to his attorney.
Reddish’s lawyer, Bill Blackford, said that an arraignment is typically canceled once an attorney notifies the court he will appear in the case.
“The case is following the natural course for one of this kind,” Blackford said.

Reddish is next expected to appear in at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 28 for a scheduling conference.
Reddish, of Abingdon, who was the kicker on the Patterson Mill Huskies football team, was indicted on two counts of second-degree rape, two counts of second-degree sex offense and single counts of third- and fourth-degree sex offense, second-degree assault and unnatural or perverted practice, according to court records.

The case stems from an alleged incident in September that reportedly took place in the girl's home one night after Reddish against , according to charging documents.
Patterson Mill has since advanced to the playoffs.
