Man Seriously Injured In I-95 Crash Requiring Medevac: Officials

Two crashes shut down I-95 in Harford County Monday night, officials said.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Two crashes closed Interstate 95 south in Harford County Monday night after 7 p.m., according to authorities. In one case, a man was seriously injured.

Officials said a man was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center following a crash in which his vehicle went off the road and overturned on I-95 north.

After 8 p.m., Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company reported that its crews were working with Kingsville first responders to free the man from the wreck on I-95 north in the area of MD 152.

Within about 20 minutes, Joppa-Magnolia fire officials said they had rescued the man, who suffered injuries that were believed to be life-threatening.

A medevac took the man to the hospital, officials said.

All lanes on I-95 north before MD 152 were closed during the emergency response, and drivers were advised to anticipate delays.

By 11 p.m., the Maryland Transportation Authority reported all lanes had reopened.

An hour earlier, officials said two vehicles crashed on the southbound side of the highway, which resulted in a shutdown of I-95 south near MD 152.

The crash involved a tractor-trailer on I-95 south past the exit for MD 152, the Maryland Transportation Authority reported before 7:45 p.m.

By 7:55 p.m., the crash had been moved to the right shoulder, according to authorities.
