What's Open, Closed For New Year's Day 2026 In Bel Air, Harford County

BEL AIR, MD — New Year’s Day is one of several holidays that usually affect the hours of government offices, libraries, public transportation, garbage pickup and other services in Bel Air and across Harford County.

State, county and local offices and courts will be closed for the holiday.

Harford County Public Schools will reopen for school Jan. 5.

The Harford County Public Library will close at 5 p.m. New Year's Eve and remain closed for New Year's Day.

If residents use Harford County Trash Services, their trash schedule will be bumped out a day so Thursday's trash will be picked up Friday and so on.
