Argument Sparked Shooting At Westfield Montgomery Mall: Police
Police continue to investigate Friday night's shooting at Westfield Montgomery Mall and believe it was not a random event.

BETHESDA, MD — Montgomery County Police continue to investigate Friday night's shooting in the parking lot of the Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda.
Police responded to the mall at 7101 Democracy Blvd. at about 7:08 p.m. Friday for the report of the sound of shots fired.
Officers located shell casings and parked cars that had been struck by bullets, but did not locate any shooting victims.

At this time, detectives do not believe this was a random event. Police believe two groups of men became involved in a verbal argument that appears to have started off of mall property. The groups went to the parking lot and continued to argue until shots were fired by one or more of the suspects, police said.

Police are actively investigating this shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 240-773-6710. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
