AT&T National: Etiquette Guide

Heading to the AT&T National this week? Here’s what you need to know about rules and etiquette for spectators at according to the tournament website:

• Spectators are asked to silence cell phones and use them only in designated “cell phone zones.”
• During the official competitive rounds beginning Thursday, players won’t sign autographs until they’ve completed their rounds. Designated autograph areas are located near the No. 9 and No. 18 scoring areas.
• Spectators are asked to stay quiet and stand still when players are about to hit the ball.
• Hands in the air means stop and be quiet while golfers are playing their shots.
• Spectators should not cross fairways, except in areas designated as crossover areas.
• Kneel or sit down whenever possible to allow for better views for all.
• Remember to follow the directions of the tournament marshals.

Distracting or embarrassing a player, making rude comments or gestures towards a player, and booing or cheering at inappropriate times may result in removal from the tournament.

The following items are NOT allowed at Congressional during the tournament:

• Cameras or video cameras after Wednesday.
• Radios TVs, signs or banners. XM portable radios ARE allowed.
• Coolers.
• Firearms or weapons.
• Folding-arm chairs or lawn chairs. Folding stools without arms or bags ARE allowed.
• Ladders.
• Periscopes.
• Large camera-carrying cases, chair-carry bags, backpacks, packages and other items larger than a small purse, including diaper or baby bags. These items will be confiscated, so don't bring them into the tournament.
• Alcoholic beverages may not enter or leave tournament grounds.
