Baltimore Men Charged With Bethesda Tobacco Store Burglary: Police

Two 20-year-olds from Baltimore were charged with burglarizing a tobacco store in Bethesda early Monday morning, police said.

BETHESDA, MD — Two 20-year-olds from Baltimore were charged with burglarizing a tobacco store in Bethesda on Monday, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.

Nathan Stewart and Donald Pevia III forced their way into the Island Smoke Tobacco Shop in the 7900 block of Norfolk Avenue in Bethesda at around 3:50 a.m. on Aug. 21, stole property and then left the area on foot, police said Friday.

Someone saw the two suspects leaving the store and were able to provide police with a description of both Stewart and Pevia, according to police.

Police said officers then found Stewart and Pevia nearby with “items of evidentiary value.” Both were taken into custody without incident and taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where they were charged with second-degree burglary, police said.

Stewart was held without bond. Pevia was released on a $3,000 unsecured personal bond, according to police.
