Bethesda Company Named A Best Workplace For Commuters
A Bethesda company is one of two workplaces in Maryland that made the honorable "Best Workplace for Commuters in 2018" list.

BETHESDA, MD — A Bethesda company is one of 225 workplaces in the U.S. that made the "Best Workplace for Commuters in 2018" list. The list is created annually by the Florida-based program Best Workplaces for Commuters, managed by the Center for Urban Transportation Research at the University of South Florida.
The Cadmus Group, Inc. was the only company in Bethesda to make the list, which recognizes companies that meet the program's National Standard of Excellence. Only one other Maryland company was honored — the Food and Drug Administration, White Oak Campus.
To make the list, workplaces must have at least 14 percent of employees who do not drive alone to and from work within a one-year period.

Employers must submit an online application annually to qualify and show how they "provide employees with access to commuter-friendly programs, such as discounted transit passes, telework, secure bicycle storage, and emergency ride home programs," Julie Bond, Program Manager for Best Workplaces for Commuters and Senior Researcher at the Center for Urban Transportation Research, said.
Cadmus is located at 7700 Old Georgetown Rd. in Bethesda. The office is two blocks from the Bethesda Metro Station and close to the area's primary commuter routes, such as 1-270 and 1-495.

"Not only are these employers changing how America commutes, they know that it makes good business sense to provide commuter programs to employees," Bond said.
