Composite Sketch Of Bethesda Trolley Trail Assault Suspect Released

Montgomery County Police on Monday released a composite sketch of a man accused of assaulting two women in Bethesda in September.

BETHESDA, MD — Montgomery County Police on Monday released a composite sketch of a man accused of assaulting two women in Bethesda in September.

The suspect sexually assaulted one woman and assaulted and attempted to rob another woman on Sept. 14. Police released the sketch and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

One of the women reported that at about 9:45 p.m. on Sept. 14, she was walking her dog at the intersection of Woodglen Drive and Executive Boulevard, when she saw the suspect walking toward her.

The woman stopped to let her dog play in the grass, when the man sexually assaulted her, police said. The suspect then rode off on an electric scooter, westbound on Executive Blvd.

At about 10:15 that night, police officers received a call for an assault that just occurred on the Bethesda Trolley Trail.

The victim said she was walking along the trail when she saw the suspect sitting on the bench. The man began talking to the woman at some point, he attempted to grab the victim’s purse and assaulted her.

The suspect then left the area on an electric scooter toward Tuckerman Lane. The victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they believe the same suspect committed both assaults.

The suspect is described as a white or mixed-race male, about 6-feet tall, 190 pounds, with dark hair and wears glasses.

In a separate case from May, Montgomery County police released a video of a man who is suspected of groping women in the neighborhood next to the Trolley Trail between Edson Lane and Tuckerman Lane in Bethesda.
