Cubano’s Closes 1 MOCO Location, 2nd Restaurant Remains Open

BETHESDA, MD — The Silver Spring location of a Cuban restaurant has closed, according to its social media feed, but the Bethesda site of the business remains open.

Cubano’s Authentic Cuban Cuisine and Beyond at 1201 Fidler Lane in downtown Silver Spring closed for renovations, but did not reopen, Source of the Spring reported.

The Silver Spring location’s Instagram profile reflects that venue's closure with this message: "CLOSED! WE ARE NOW IN BETHESDA!"

The website for the Silver Spring location has also been taken down.

Meanwhile, Cubano’s Authentic Cuban Cuisine and Beyond at 4907 Cordell Ave. in Bethesda is open. Its hours are:

• Sunday through Thursday: Noon to 9 p.m.
• Friday and Saturday: Noon to 10 p.m.

The Mendez family opened the Bethesda restaurant in 2020. José Guzman, a chef at the former Silver Spring location, oversees the Bethesda kitchen and the use of the family’s Cuban recipes, Source of the Spring said.
