Donutchew Opens New Store At Montgomery Mall In Bethesda: Report

Donutchew, a chain that makes donuts with glutinous rice flour, has opened a new location at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda.

BETHESDA, MD — Donutchew, a chain that makes donuts with glutinous rice flour, has opened a new location at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, according to a report.

The new location is at a kiosk in the Dining Terrace food court at the mall, Robert Dyer @ Bethesda Row reported.

Before Donutchew moved in, the kiosk had seen significant turnover in recent years, according to Robert Dyer. But Robert Dyer noted that Donutchew has had success with its new Rio Lakefront location in Gaithersburg.

The Mochi donuts made by Donutchew are different from the ones found in most donut shops and bakeries. Made with glutinous rice flour, the texture is dense and chewy.

These types of donuts “have the perfect level of sweetness and just the right texture to make them completely addictive,” Donutchew says on its website.

“And they are also made into a beautiful pon de ring shape that will look great on any dessert table or with your morning coffee,” Donutchew says.

Along with this new location in Bethesda and the store in Gaithersburg, Donutchew has several stores in Virginia, including Fair Oaks, Annandale, Kingstowne, Vienna, Tysons and downtown Richmond.
