Frank Pepe Pizzeria Opening In Bethesda Pushed Back: Report

The opening of New Haven-based Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana in Westfield Montgomery Mall has been delayed.

BETHESDA, MD — Pizza lovers eager to sink their teeth into a slice of that circular goodness from Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana will have to wait a little longer.

Several news outlets are reporting that the New Haven-style pizza chain's opening in Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda has been pushed back.

A spokesperson for the pizza chain told Rockville Knights that because of a "minor technical issue" the restaurant will now open Monday, March 28 — a week later than originally planned.

The pizza chain's media representative did not offer any additional details for the delay.

The original Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana opened in New Haven, Conn. in 1925 and currently has locations in Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

This will be the chain's first location in the DMV. The Bethesda location will be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. There will be a dining room, an outdoor dining patio and takeout.
