Frank Pepe's Pizza Now Open In Westfield Montgomery Mall

BETHESDA, MD — New Haven's Frank Pepe's Pizzeria is now open in the Westfield Montgomery Mall, making it the first location in the DMV.

"It may have taken nearly a century for America's best pizza to arrive in the DMV, but we are thrilled to finally be here." said Jennifer Kelly, granddaughter of Frank Pepe, in a news release announcing the opening.

There are Frank Pepe's Pizzerias in Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The first was opened in 1925.

The pizzeria serves classic pies, speciality pies and salads.

"These are our family's original recipes," said Kelly in the release. "We even replicated our signature coal-fired, hand-built brick oven using iron castings from the original restaurant."

The Westfield Montgomery Mall location will be open everyday from 1 a.m. to 10 p.m. It was originally scheduled to open a week earlier, but a "minor technical issue" pushed the date back.
