Grateful For Mom's Husband In Bethesda: 30 Days of Gratitude

BETHESDA, MD — All month, Patch is asking readers to share who they're grateful for. Here, Krysten Jenci says thank you to her mother's husband, Rey, who was recently diagnosed with an illness.

Here's Krysten's note:

Rey was recently diagnosed with an illness and is fighting a noble battle. Rey has been such a blessing in all of our lives and he is the most brilliant and generous man I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He treats my Mom with so much respect and love and has always cared for me and my sisters like we are his own children. I love him so much and am so very grateful for the powerful difference he has made in our lives.

Krysten also shared a poem that she wrote about her mom and Rey for their anniversary in 2010:
