Lane Of Rockville Pike To Close Starting May 3

From MCDOT: The following lane closure will take place for approximately one week on weekdays only, BEGINNING WEDNESDAY MAY 3 (weather permitting) and continuing for approximately one week: The SOUTHBOUND TURNING LANE on Rockville Pike from South Drive, and the adjacent SOUTHBOUND TRAVEL LANE will be closed from9:00 AM thru 3:00 PM. The attached map shows the extent of the lane closure on Southbound Rockville Pike at South Drive.

This planned lane closure is part of the ongoing construction of the MD 355 (Rockville Pike) Crossing Project at the Medical Center Metro Station. The Crossing Project, managed by the Montgomery County Dept. of Transportation (MCDOT), will construct a pedestrian underpass beneath Rockville Pike and deep elevators to the Metrorail mezzanine on the east side of Rockville Pike at the entrance to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Naval Support Activity Bethesda (NSAB).

Please note that this lane closure is in addition to a previously announced WEEKEND DUAL LANE CLOSURE of Rockville Pike between Woodmont Avenue and Wilson Drive from 10:00 PMFriday, May 5 thru 5:00 AM Monday, May 8.
