Crime Scene DNA In Morin Homicide Matches Child Attacker: Sheriff
DNA evidence pulled from the crime scene of slain mom Rachel Morin has matched DNA found at the scene of a March 2023 home invasion and assault of a young girl in Los Angeles. Col. William Davis with the Harford County Sheriff's Office shared a video of the man they believe murdered 37-year-old Morin.
Escaped Prisoner In Custody, IDed Himself To TV Station: Report
A prisoner who escaped from a transport van Wednesday morning and was taken into custody about 6 p.m. after he approached a Baltimore TV crew, reports said. Howard County Police identified the escapee as Randy Morris, 38, who was incarcerated for burglary. Authorities said they heard about the escape around 8:30 a.m.

Video Captures Firefighter's View Battling House Fire With $350K Loss
A home caught on fire in Havre de Grace on Aug. 11. An estimated 65 firefighters battled the blaze from several fire departments and companies. A "pipeman" from Engine 113 with the Level Volunteer Fire Company shared a short video of the crews battling the blaze from a chest-mounted camera, which can be seen here.
Man Accused Of Shooting Ex-Wife's Boyfriend At Trampoline Park
Authorities charged a 30-year-old man with murder after prosecutors said he shot and killed his ex-wife's boyfriend while at a Baltimore County trampoline park Saturday, according to reports citing charging documents.

1 Dead In Fall From Bridge After Crash: Police
Authorities recovered the body of a person who was thrown from a crash site on an Interstate 395 bridge into water below Sunday night. A collision on 395 South resulted in a civilian falling over the Jersey wall into the water below, police said.
Thieves Steal $700K In Jewels After Crashing Van Into Store: Police
Police are searching for multiple suspects who they say stole more than $700,000 in merchandise from a Pikesville jewelry store. Police said the burglary happened just after 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at Radcliffe Jewelers, located in the 1800 block of Reisterstown Road. Police said the store lost roughly $700,000 in merchandise.
Animal Shelter Shut Down Immediately After Canine Influenza Detected
An outbreak of canine influenza has invaded the Prince George's County Animal Shelter, which has been shut down effective Thursday.
Beloved Teacher Still Missing, Son Arrested On Traffic Charges: Police
The son of a missing Prince George's County elementary school teacher has been arrested and held without bond on charges unrelated to his mother's disappearance nearly three weeks ago, authorities said.
Mosquitos Test Positive For West Nile Virus
Mosquitoes in Laurel have tested positive for West Nile Virus. They were trapped at two locations: Highpoint Trail and Overlook Way; and Oxford Drive and Northlake Court. If conditions allow, the Maryland Department of Agriculture will be spraying Aug. 20 in Laurel.
High Levels Of Harmful Algae Blooms Detected At Reservoir
High concentrations of blue-green algae have been detected again in the T. Howard Duckett Reservoir, prompting WSSC Water to issue a health advisory. These blooms can produce extremely dangerous toxins that can sicken or kill people and animals, according to the U.S. EPA.
Rare Flesh-Eating Bacteria Kills 8; What You Need To Know In MD
Health officials are warning of a rare flesh-eating bacterium known as Vibrio vulnificus, found naturally in warm coastal waters, that has killed at least eight people along the East Coast this summer. Two people died in Connecticut and another on Long Island after becoming infected. Five people have died in Florida so far this year.
4,500 Accounts Impacted By Cyberattack On Schools
About 4,500 user accounts out of 180,000 were impacted by a cyber attack on the Prince George's County Public Schools network. The breach was detected Monday morning. Most of the user accounts affected were staff accounts.
Task Force 1 Heads To Hawaii To Aid Wildfire Victims
Members of Montgomery County's Urban Search and Rescue team headed to Hawaii to assist residents after wildfires tore through parts of Maui, killing more than 100 people, destroying a historic town and leaving thousands of others displaced.
