'Murder in the Yoga Store,' Fancy Cakes, Manna Dinner
Rainy weather, beautiful cakes, a new restaurant and a horrific crime.

Here are five things to know in Bethesda and Chevy Chase on Wednesday, Aug. 7:
1.) Temperatures will be in the mid-80s, with scattered thunderstorms and a 50 percent chance of rain, according to The Weather Channel.
2.) Mark your calendars for Friday, Aug. 16, when journalist Peter Ross Range discusses his new book, Murder in the Yoga Store: The True Story of the Lululemon Killing, at Politics and Prose Bookstore. Read more on Patch.
3.) Have you ever seen a cake get painted? It's a very delicate business, but the results are delicious. Watch a video of cakes being decorated at Bethesda cake shop Fancy Cakes by Leslie.
4.) Try a brand-new restaurant and support the Manna Food Center at the same time on Aug. 15, when Paladar Latin Kitchen and Rum Bar opens and donates 100 percent of proceeds that night to the food bank. Read more—including how to make a reservation—on Patch.
5.) A grilled-cheese sandwich record may be broken at this year's county fair. Read more on Patch.
