Rash of Thefts from Autos Reported in Bethesda, Chevy Chase
Thieves are targeting cars parked in Bethesda and Chevy Chase neighborhoods, according to a police recent crime summary.

An increasing number of thefts from autos are being reported in Bethesda and Chevy Chase, according to a recent Montgomery County police crime summary.
Ten thefts from vehicles were reported the week of Dec. 3 to Dec. 12 in the Bethesda and Chevy Chase area, two of which happened at the Westfield Montgomery Mall, according to police. In one instance, an iPod was stolen from the trunk of a car in the 4400 block of Willard Avenue.
Shortly before noon on Saturday, Dec. 8, thieves forced their way into a car and stole an iPad and charger at the Montgomery Mall. Also at the mall, a bag of cosmetics and clothing were taken from an unlocked car between 1:45 and 3:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7.

Two thefts from autos in Chevy Chase's Rosemary Hills neighborhood involved broken windows, according to police.
Other targeted streets included Woodbine Street in Chevy Chase and the 6400 block of Goldsboro Road and the 4600 block of Western Avenue in Bethesda.

Items stolen included GPS units, vehicle parts, cash, wallets and iPods.
