RSVP/AARP Tax-Aide Program Seeks Volunteers for Tax Season
The RSVP/AARP Tax-Aide Program offers free tax preparation assistance to low-to-moderate-income area residents.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD - The Montgomery County Volunteer Center is recruiting volunteers for the RSVP/AARP Tax-Aide Program. From February through April, the program offers free tax preparation assistance to approximately 5,000 low-to-moderate-income Montgomery County residents, with a focus on those age 60 or older.
Interested individuals are invited to attend one of three upcoming information sessions to learn about volunteer opportunities and training. No registration is needed. Sessions will be held:

- Tuesday, November 15, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Chevy Chase Library, 8005 Connecticut Ave.
- Friday, November 18, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Mid County Community Recreation Center, 2004 Queensguard Rd., Silver Spring
- Thursday, December 1, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Gaithersburg Library, 18330 Montgomery Village Ave.
Three types of volunteer positions are available. Tax Counselors help taxpayers prepare their federal and Maryland tax returns at one of the more than 20 sites throughout Montgomery County. Facilitators welcome taxpayers at each site, help organize their paperwork, and manage the service flow. Schedulers answer calls and arrange appointments.
