Snow Emergency For Moco In Effect: No Parking On Snow Routes
A snow emergency has been declared for Montgomery County, which means no parking is allowed on county snow routes.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A snow emergency has been declared for Montgomery County, effective at midnight Sunday evening. In accordance with the county code, this means:
- Parking is prohibited along county roads marked as a snow emergency route and in county parking lots designated as snow emergency lots.
- All vehicles should be parked off-street in a driveway or garage. Cars that must park on the street should be parked on the odd-numbered side of the street on Monday, Jan. 6, and moved to the even-numbered side on Tuesday, Jan. 7, if the snow emergency remains in effect. Cul-de-sacs need to be as clear as possible to allow for snowplows to turn around. Cars should not park at the center of the cul-de-sac.
- Fees for county parking garages will be waived during a declared snow emergency. Residents may park in county garages and are encouraged to use them for off-street parking.
