Terraces At Tuckerman Lane Undergoing Renovations In North Bethesda
The Terraces at Tuckerman Lane, an assisted living facility in North Bethesda, is undergoing a multi-million-dollar renovation.

NORTH BETHESDA, MD — The Terraces at Tuckerman Lane, an assisted living facility in North Bethesda, is undergoing a multi-million-dollar renovation of its 101 assisted living apartments and other spaces.
Planned improvements include a fully renovated lobby, main dining room, café and bar. Lounges, at the center of each residential wing, will feature multiple soft-seating options as well as groupings of activity tables and chairs to accommodate a variety of uses of the space. ML Group oversaw the design of the planned renovations.
“Our vision is to offer the best of what is trending in senior living, including upscale residences, resort-style amenities and distinctive lifestyle options,” Laura Holden, the new senior executive director of The Terraces at Tuckerman Lane, said in a statement Thursday.

Holden most recently served as executive director of The Terraces at Westminster in Westminster for four years.
The Terraces at Tuckerman Lane, previously known as Brighton Gardens of Tuckerman Lane, underwent a rebranding in 2022 after Tryko Partners acquired the community. Tryko also owns The Terraces at Westminster.

Work has begun on the corridors and residences at The Terraces at Tuckerman Lane, which will have upgraded bathrooms, kitchenettes, flooring and lighting.
Tuckerman is also exploring the possibility of adding a dedicated memory care neighborhood on the fourth floor, “which would offer an innovative solution to residents’ clinical needs,” Holden said.
The facility recently introduced Samba Fitness, a branded fitness program, and the Rendever virtual reality platform, which allows residents to travel the world without leaving home. Residents at The Terraces at Tuckerman Lane also are provided with direct access to the Bethesda Trolley Trail, a popular four-mile walking and biking path.
The Terraces at Tuckerman Lane, at 5550 Tuckerman Lane, spans about 84,000 square feet. Along with assisted living and respite care, the community offers onsite skilled nursing at Tuckerman Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.
