Thousands Of Dollars Worth Of Glasses Stolen At Chevy Chase Store

Police are searching for two men who robbed thousands of dollars worth of glasses from ILORI at The Shops At Wisconsin Place.

CHEVY CHASE, MD — Police are searching for two suspects who robbed thousands of dollars worth of glasses from the ILORI Optical store at The Shops At Wisconsin Place earlier this month.

The robbery happened at about 1:03 a.m. April 5, police said.

Investigation revealed the suspects entered the store and tried on several pairs of glasses while browsing through the displays.

An employee "became suspicious" of the suspects and began to record them on his cell phone, police said. One of the suspects saw the employee filming them and threatened to assault him, police told Patch.

The suspects stole numerous pairs of glasses from a display case totaling $7,000. The men then fled the scene, police said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information about this robbery is asked to call the Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section at 240-773-5100.
