Fire Truck, SWAT Vehicle Part Of Community Day At Westfield Montgomery

BETHESDA, MD — Westfield Montgomery Mall is hosting a Touch a Truck Community Day on Saturday, July 15, an event that will feature trucks, bounce installations and face painting.

The event will take place in the parking lot on the Cheesecake Factory side of the mall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 15.

The day’s main attractions include special appearances by the Rockville City Police, Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection, Bethesda Chevy Chase Fire Department, Gaithersburg City Police, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, Maryland Department of Transportation and Montgomery County Police Department.

Each department will showcase their vehicles, including a police car, fire truck, and a SWAT armored truck.

Other exhibits will include a tractor, dump truck and excavator display by Green Earth, Montgomery County Recycling, and Digging and Rigging. Bounce installations will be provided by Z bounce, and Mr. Pin from Lucky Strike will also make an appearance.

"We're thrilled to host the Touch a Truck Community Day event at Westfield Montgomery Mall," Stuart Amos, senior general manager at Westfield Montgomery Mall, said in a statement. "Our goal is to foster community engagement and provide a fun-filled day for families. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone there."

Interfaith Works will be at the event with a truck for attendees to donate used clothing, essential and food pantry items, and a table for volunteers.

A DJ will be at the event to provide entertainment and music. At 11 a.m. on July 15, the main stage will host a performance by the award-winning Great Zucchini, a children’s entertainer and magician. Pet Connect Rescue, a nonprofit animal rescue organization committed to saving cats and dogs, will also join the day’s events.

Complimentary samples of food will be offered by Lucky Strike, Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana, California Pizza Kitchen and Shake Shack. Under Armour, Haagen-Daz, Tesla and Jim Coleman will also have booths at the event.

Westfield Montgomery Mall is located at 7101 Democracy Blvd. in Bethesda.
