BETHESDA, MD — A tractor trailer hit a manhole and caused a fuel spill in Bethesda Thursday morning, officials said.
The truck struck a "loose manhole cover" and caused an active fuel leak on Wisconsin Avenue at Walsh Street, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer said. The incident occurred at about 9:30 a.m.
HAZMAT units were called to the scene. Some lanes are blocked between Bradley Boulevard at Walsh Street, north of East West Highway Route 410, Piringer said.
