USDA Recalls Chicken Fritters Shipped To Maryland

MARYLAND — Perdue Foods LLC has issued a recall for their chicken products because of undeclared allergens and misbranding, The United States Department of Agriculture announced. The company is recalling about 530 pounds of the ready-to-cook chicken breast tenderloin fritters shipped to food service locations in Maryland, D.C. and Florida.

The product contains eggs, which is a known allergen and is not declared on the label, officials said.

The ready-to-cook chicken tenderloin fritter items were produced on Dec. 6, 2017. The ten-pound boxes contain two five-pound plastic bags with the box labeled "Chef Redi Homestyle Chicken Tender Fritter, RTC - Large" with the case code 7374. The products have "P-11507" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions, but anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider, officials said.
