Wegmans Double-Charging Affects Credit Card Customers In MD
A glitch in Wegmans' system on Aug. 16 affected both in-store shopping in Maryland and online orders, the company said.

MARYLAND — Shoppers in Maryland and other states who purchased goods online or in-store with a credit card at a Wegmans grocery store on Aug. 16 should check their statements, as they were most likely double-charged, company officials said.
According to officials, credit card transactions were impacted, but EBT and debit card transactions were not. The issue impacted all Wegmans stores, and the company sent out alerts to app users and customers.
Wegmans noted that the issue has been identified, and they are working with processors to reverse the charges.

Customers should see the duplicate charges reversed in the upcoming days depending on their bank or issuer, a company spokesperson noted.
