Woman Last Seen Alive In Bethesda In January Found Dead

The United States Park Police has canceled its missing persons bulletin for 54-year-old Sibylle Zitko.

BETHESDA, MD — The body of a missing woman last seen in Maryland has been found, prompting the United States Park Police to recently cancel its missing person bulletin.

Sibylle Zitko, 54, went missing from the area of the C&O Canal at Lock 7 in Cabin John three months ago. She was last seen in Bethesda around 6 a.m. on Jan. 6, police said.

On March 8, police arrived in the area of Lock 5 near Brookmont for a report of a “possible deceased female," WTOP-TV reported.

Preliminary information does not indicate foul play, WJLA-TV said.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Zitgo was a senior legal advisor to the EU delegation to the United States.
