Woodmont Closure Pushed Back; Street Will Close Friday
Commuters will have to maneuver around a stretch of Woodmont Avenue that will close for 20 months.
The closure of a stretch of Woodmont Avenue south of Bethesda Avenue has been pushed back.
The road will be closed between Bethesda Avenue and Miller Avenue starting Friday, Sept. 7, at 9 p.m., according to Ken Hartman, director of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center.
Initial estimates called for the closure to begin Tuesday.

The 20-month closure will allow for the construction of a major public parking garage—with 940 public parking spaces—and two residential developments. The project has already prompted the shutdown of at the intersection.
