1 Dead, 1 In Custody Following Barricade Incident In PG County

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — One person is dead and another is in custody following a barricade incident in Prince George's County on Friday, according to police.

In a statement posted on social media, the Prince George's County Police Department said it was assisting Seat Pleasant authorities with a death investigation that developed into a barricade situation in the 6400 block of Greig Street.

Police said one adult male was believed to be inside the residence. In a later update, authorities said the man was taken into custody.

Police initially asked residents to shelter in place, but the order has since been lifted.

The incident prompted police to close Greig Street between Addison Road and MLK Jr. Highway. MLK Jr. Highway is also closed between Addison Road and Foote Street. Roads are expected to reopen shortly, police said.
