CLINTON, MD -- The two bodies that were discovered in the bedroom of a home in Clinton late Monday night were from a murder-suicide, police say.

Police were called to the 5800 block of E. Boniwood Turn to conduct a welfare check, and they found an adult man and woman "with trauma to the body lying unresponsive in a bedroom of a home," the Prince George's County Police Department tweeted early Tuesday morning. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have since identified the deceased as 46-year-old Anika Browne and 49-year-old Gordon Johnson. They believe Johnson, Browne's boyfriend, shot Browne and then himself in the bedroom, according to the follow-up report from PGPD.
