PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Two men from Silver Spring have been charged in connection to a fatal shooting in their town, according to police. On Sept. 14 at approximately 4 p.m., police officers were called to the 9200 block of New Hampshire Avenue for a report of a shooting. They found 35-year-old Carlos Alberto Ortiz of Silver Spring in a wooded area with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene, police reported. The preliminary investigation revealed that 27-year-old William Jaminton Pavon-Mancock of Silver Spring shot the victim during a dispute. They knew each other, police said, and a second suspect, 24-year-old Jimmy Hernandez-Morales, was involved. Hernandez-Morales and Pavon-Mancock are both charged with first- and second-degree murder and other related charges.
