HYATTSVILLE, MD — A Prince George's County lotto player happens to be $50,000 richer after playing the Pick 5 game.

The lotto fan usually plays personal sets of numbers, such as his birthday or license plate numbers. But he recently played a number from the 1970s that had personal significance, he told Maryland Lottery officials, and that number won a $50,000 prize.

“I was excited but not too excited. I was able to keep cool,” he told lotto officials.
