85-Year-Old Largo Woman Dies After Car Crash With On-Duty PGPD Officer
An 85-year-old Largo woman has died 5 days after she was involved in a car crash with an on-duty Prince George's police officer.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — An 85-year-old Largo woman involved in a crash with an on-duty police officer has died and the patrol officer has been released from the hospital.
On Sept. 9 at approximately 11:20 a.m., the Prince George's police officer collided with Jeanette Benthall in the intersection of Campus Way South and Joyceton Drive. Benthall died of her injuries Sept. 14 in the hospital, according to the police department.
The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating the cause of the collision. Detectives are collecting video evidence and speaking to additional witnesses. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call detectives at 301-731-4422.
