Bowie Patch Reader Helps Jean Find a Forever Home
Jean Carlos has been living in foster care in Colombia for six years. He hopes to find his forever home while visiting the U.S. this summer.
This summer my family is hosting an 11-year-old orphan boy from Colombia in order to help him find an adoptive family. He is one of a group of 17 older orphans (ages 10-14) being brought from Colombia to the United States through Kidsave’s Summer Miracles program. Not only will they get to enjoy a wonderful summer vacation and experience family life, but Kidsave’s unique method of hosting and mentoring gets these overlooked kids out into the public, meeting people who might be interested in adopting them.
Jean Carlos has been living in foster care in Colombia for six years. As an older child, his chances of being adopted are slim. Our hope is that his summer with us will give him the opportunity to meet someone to adopt him. Jean Carlos is a good student and is affectionate and expressive. He is respectful and responsible and willingly follows rules.

He will be staying with our family in Bowie and is arriving June 30th. We are excited to introduce him to family life here in Maryland. We take so much for granted when we grow up around family. I hope this summer he will meet someone that he can call mom and dad.
Sincerely,
