Missing Bowie Woman Found Dead In Pond

BOWIE, MD — A woman who was reported as a critical missing person was found in a pond Tuesday. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The Bowie Police Department received a call around 8:47 a.m. Tuesday about a critical missing woman last seen in the 1200 block of Durham Drive. A bloodhound unit and air support were called in to help with the search for the woman. Maryland State Police air support found the woman's body in a pond located in the 14900 block of Dunleigh Drive, police reported.

The woman has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. No foul play is suspected.

The Prince George’s County Police Department has assumed the investigation into this death.
