MARYLAND — Maintenance work on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge that links Prince George's County to Alexandria, Virginia, will stop traffic at times Thursday night.
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration crews will perform routine maintenance overnight Thursday, March 16, requiring temporary traffic stops in both directions on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge (I-95/I-495/Capital Beltway) in Prince George’s County.
Weather permitting, the work is expected to be complete by 5 a.m. Friday, March 17, according to an SHA news release.

The work area is near the National Harbor complex.
Starting at 11 p.m. Thursday, the work will require periodic opening of the drawbridge, resulting in full traffic stops in both directions on the bridge. These stops are expected to last 15 to 20 minutes and will occur several times overnight.

Drivers should plan for extra driving time overnight to account for delays during the test opening periods.
"The State Highway Administration understands this work will inconvenience some travelers and asks all motorists to please stay alert and be patient as you pass through the work zone," the agency said in a news release.
