Community Rallies Around Laurel Tavern Donuts After Car Crashes Into Building
The community has rallied around Laurel Tavern Donuts after a car crashed into the eatery. A GoFundMe aims to help with rebuilding.

LAUREL, MD — The community has rallied around a small business owner whose restaurant was damaged after a vehicle crashed into the building Nov. 30.
Laurel Tavern Donuts, located at 115 Washington Blvd. South, sustained approximately $10,000 in damage after the incident, according to the Prince George's County Fire and Rescue.
Will Kwon told WUSA that he's determined to reopen the eatery, which he's owned for almost 18 years.

"I thought like a bomb exploded," Kwon said. "I was very close to it. I was very lucky to survive."
Kwon's son, Sean Kwon, started an online fundraiser to help rebuild with a goal of raising $10,000. As of Dec. 7, they've raised $9,488.

"My parents created this donut shop around 18 years ago and ever since, they have been making fresh doughnuts from scratch everyday at 3 a.m. and mini-burgers throughout the afternoon," Sean Kwon wrote.
