Two correctional officers from Prince George's have been indicted for smuggling weapons, drugs and other items into a D.C. jail inside food.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Two people from Prince George's County have been indicted in connection to their role in a conspiracy to provide a knife, drugs and cell phones to inmates at a Washington, D.C., jail.

According to the indictment, LaTara Brown, 31, of Capitol Heights and Kiya Holland, 33, of Oxon Hill were arrested Nov. 19 along with three co-defendants. Holland and Brown packaged drugs, cell phones, phone chargers, glasses, tobacco, rolling papers, gambling dice, cigarettes and a knife wrapped inside plastic wrap and tucked inside prepared food, which was placed in Tupperware containers that they would take to the Central Detention Facility. Involved corrections officers would then deliver the contraband to three inmates. When a sweep was done of the three involved inmates' cell, they also found pills, drugs, cigarettes soaked in an unknown liquid, strips of Buprenorphine, phones and more.
