Driver Flees After Fatally Hitting Capitol Heights Man: PGPD

Prince George's County police are searching for the driver they say fatally hit a Capitol Heights man Thursday night in Seat Pleasant.

SEAT PLEASANT, MD — Detectives are investigating a fatal hit and run that happened Thursday night in Seat Pleasant.

On Dec. 11 around 7:10 p.m., officers with the Seat Pleasant Police Department were called to East Capitol Street approaching Davey Street for a report of a pedestrian collision. They found 37-year-old Tirone Haimanchandra of Capitol Heights in the road.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, Prince George's County police said.

The preliminary investigation revealed the involved driver hit Haimanchandrea in the westbound lanes of East Capitol Street. The driver did not remain at the scene, police said.
