Accokeek Woman Killed In Hit-And-Run, Driver Sought By Prince George's Police

ACCOKEEK, MD — Police are searching for the vehicle and driver who fatally hit a woman Nov. 22 around 9:50 p.m. in the area of Indian Head Highway and Farmington Road.

According to the Prince George's Police Department, when officers arrived on the scene, they found 40-year-old Loretta Canter-Andrews of Accokeek in the road with trauma. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicated the involved driver hit Canter-Andrews in the northbound lanes of Indian Head Highway. The driver did not remain on scene. Officers continue to try and identify the driver and vehicle in the incident. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call detectives at 301-731-4422.
