Prince George's Firefighters Rescue Wandering Husky Waiting To Be Reunited With Family

Prince George's firefighters welcomed a husky who wandered into Station 832 Friday. He's since been turned over to the county shelter.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A husky who wandered into a Prince George's fire station Friday has been turned over to the Prince George's County Animal Shelter where he waits for loved ones to claim him.

Station 832 on Allentown Road posted on Facebook Friday afternoon that the husky wasn't microchipped and asked that anyone who knew his owner should contact the fire department. Firefighters provided the dog with water and shade in the meantime.

A deep dive on social media revealed to the firefighters that the husky's name was Jerry and he has been known to escape from home before, according to their Facebook post. A neighbor of the fire station kindly gave Jerry a bone while he waited for someone to step forward and take the dog back home.
