Fogo de Chao will open this winter at National Harbor in the space formerly occupied by McLoone's Pier House.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Fogo de Chao will open this winter at National Harbor in the space formerly occupied by McLoone's Pier House.
A specific open date has not yet been disclosed for what will be the chain's third restaurant in Maryland.
Fans of the Brazilian steakhouse love the eatery's traditional gaucho method of roasting meats over an open fire, known as "ground fire."

The national chain first opened in 1979 and features fresh cuts of fire-roasted meats, along with salads and traditional Brazilian cocktails. The signature steak known as the picanha is flavored with sea salt or garlic. Other popular dishes include the costela, which are beef ribs, fraldinha, which is bottom sirloin, along with rib eye, sausage, bacon-wrapped sirloin, filet mignon and lamb chops.

The 12,154-square-foot space at the National Harbor is waterfront property and offers patrons a full patio seating section.
Fogo de Chao already has locations at 600 E. Pratt St., No. 102, in Baltimore, and 11600 Old Georgetown Road in North Bethesda.
