Gun, Ammunition Found In 13-Year-Old's Bookbag At Ellen Ochoa Middle School
A 13-year-old faces several charges after police say he was found with a gun and ammunition in his bookbag at school Monday.
LANDOVER HILLS, MD — A 13-year-old boy was found with a gun in his bookbag at Ellen Ochoa Middle School Monday afternoon, police report.
Prince George's County Public Schools security officers found the gun. According to police, other students told school officials that their classmate had a firearm at school. He also had ammunition with him. Security officers confiscated the gun and called Prince George's County Police around 12:45 p.m.
Police officers took the student into custody. He will be charged with several offenses, police stated, including handgun on person, dangerous weapon on school property and possession of a firearm by a minor.
