Woolfley will take the oath of office on Jan. 20.

Out of 29 candidates, the Bowie City Council chose H.L. Dufour Woolfley Jr. to replace Todd Turner as an at-large member of the City Council.
Initially, 36 people applied for the vacant seat, but six dropped out before the interview process and one withdrew at the time of the interview.
