Bald Eagle That Disrupted Metro Has Been Euthanized: Report
A bald eagle found injured near the tracks along the Blue and Silver lines caused delays Wednesday, and was later euthanized.

LANDOVER, MD -- The bald eagle that landed near Metro tracks in Prince George's County -- causing delays during the evening rush hour on Wednesday -- has been euthanized, according to a report.
City Wildlife, a local wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center, took possession of the eagle after it was pulled from the tracks and later determined that injuries to its wing were too severe, Fox 5 reported.
WTOP reports that eight people, including animal control officials, were able to safely recover an injured bald eagle in the area of Blue and Silver line tracks near the Morgan Boulevard station in Landover at around 7 p.m.

It took a couple of hours to corral the bird, which resulted in single-tracking between Addison Road and Morgan Boulevard. The eagle was dangerously close to the third rail, so officials had to shut down electricity to the rail.
